When you arrive at your local Walmart store, visit the Customer Service Desk or Money Center. Be sure to bring your photo identification. You can pay with either U.S. currency or a PIN-based debit card. Use the store locator to find the nearest store.

You need to provide the sender’s name, address, acceptable photo ID, date of birth & phone number. You may also need to provide information about the recipient.

Photo identification is needed when sending or receiving money. A valid government-issued photo identification that is not damaged or expired is an acceptable form of ID. This includes:

• U.S. driver’s license, including Puerto Rico

• State ID, including Puerto Rico

• United States passport

• International passport

• Military ID

• U.S. permanent resident card

• Tribal ID

• Mexican matricula consular

Yes, options include cash, bank account, debit card, mobile wallet & home delivery. Availability varies depending on the service provider & the country of destination.¹

To receive a money transfer, visit the Customer Service Desk or Money Center & present a valid photo ID. You can also pick up at MoneyGram & Western Union agencies.

With a few exceptions, cash will be ready to be paid out in as little as 10 minutes, except for transactions that need further review by Western Union, Ria or MoneyGram.²
